{"id":65,"date":"2016-09-08T21:46:00","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T00:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alames.org\/2016\/09\/08\/international-association-of-health-policies-iahp\/"},"modified":"2024-07-20T19:41:10","modified_gmt":"2024-07-20T22:41:10","slug":"international-association-of-health-policies-iahp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alames.org\/pt-br\/international-association-of-health-policies-iahp\/","title":{"rendered":"International Association of Health Policies &#8211; IAHP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>International Association of Health Policies &#8211; IAHP<br \/>\nCALL FOR SOLIDARITY<\/p>\n<p>The International Association of Health Policies (IAHP) stands in support of two of their board members of the European region and members of \u201cAcademics for Peace\u201d and Education and Science Workers Union (E\u011fitim-SEN), who were discharged from their positions at public higher institutions in Turkey!<\/p>\n<p>Turkey experienced a failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, and the Turkish government holds the religious group led by the US resident cleric Fethullah G\u00fclen responsible. In the aftermath of the failed coup the Government and university administrations have ordered for the dismissal of 42,881 state employees, especially in the Ministry of Education, but also at universities, where 2,346 employees were discharged. The latest mass purge imposed on the basis of a cabinet decree within the context of the state of emergency rule (September 1, 2016), included more than 41 Peace Petition signatories that were deemed \u201csupporters of terrorism\u201d and banned from public service.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2016, 2,218 scholars from Turkey signed a petition titled \u201cWe will not be a party to this crime,\u201d also known as the Peace Petition, which demanded Turkey\u2019s state to abandon its deliberate massacre and deportation of Kurdish and other peoples in the region. Since then the signatories (\u201cAcademics for Peace\u201d) have been subject to heavy pressure and persecution and have faced criminal and disciplinary investigations, custody, imprisonment, or violent threats.<\/p>\n<p>The dismissal of the 41 Peace Petition signatories and Education and Science Workers Union (E\u011fitim-SEN) members in the latest mass purge, among them the International Association of Health Policies (IAHPE) board members ONUR HAZAOGLU and \u00d6ZLEM \u00d6ZKAN, is yet another demonstration of the rapid escalation of violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Turkey, where the failed coup attempt has served as a pretext for the Erdogan government to cleanse all critical voices, both political opponents and human rights defenders.<\/p>\n<p>The IAHP strongly condemns the dismissal of two of its board members, ONUR HAZAOGLU and \u00d6ZLEM \u00d6ZKA, and urgently demand that our colleagues get reinstated to their positions and have their employee rights fully restored.<\/p>\n<p>Mauricio Torres-Tovar<br \/>\nOn behalf of IHAP<\/p>\n<p>Asociaci\u00f3n Internacional de Pol\u00edticas de Salud &#8211; IAHP<br \/>\nDECLARACI\u00d3N DE SOLIDARIDAD<\/p>\n<p>La Asociaci\u00f3n Internacional de Pol\u00edticas de Salud (IAHP) afirma su apoyo a dos de sus miembros de la junta de la regi\u00f3n de Europa, miembros de los &#8220;Acad\u00e9micos por la Paz&#8221; y de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Trabajadores de la Educaci\u00f3n y de la Ciencia (Egitim-SEN), que fueron retirados des sus posiciones en instituciones p\u00fablicas de educaci\u00f3n superior en Turqu\u00eda!<\/p>\n<p>Turqu\u00eda experiment\u00f3 un fallido golpe de Estado el 15 de julio de 2016, y el gobierno turco responsabiliza a un grupo religioso liderado por el cl\u00e9rigo residente en Estados Unidos G\u00fclen. Tras el golpe fracasado las administraciones gubernamentales y universitarias han ordenado el despido de 42.881 trabajadores del Estado, especialmente en el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n, pero tambi\u00e9n en las universidades, donde fueron despedidos 2.346 empleados. El \u00faltimo despido masivo impuesto con base en un decreto del gabinete en el contexto de la situaci\u00f3n de estado de emergencia (1 de septiembre, 2016), incluy\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 41 signatarios de la Petici\u00f3n de Paz por considerarlos &#8220;partidarios del terrorismo&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>En enero de 2016, 2.218 acad\u00e9micos de Turqu\u00eda firmaron una petici\u00f3n titulada &#8220;No vamos a ser parte de este crimen&#8221;, tambi\u00e9n conocida como la Petici\u00f3n de la Paz, que exig\u00eda el estado de Turqu\u00eda abandonar su matanza deliberada y la expulsi\u00f3n de los pueblos kurdos y de otros en la regi\u00f3n. Desde entonces los signatarios (&#8220;Acad\u00e9micos por la Paz&#8221;) han sido objeto de una fuerte presi\u00f3n y persecuci\u00f3n, y se han enfrentado a investigaciones penales y disciplinarias, la custodia, el encarcelamiento o amenazas violentas.
